We've had a very eventful week, and first of all I'd like to congratulate our fall term board, and everyone who was brave enough to declare as a candidate.

I would reccommend CLTC because it's only 2 weeks, the time slots are extremely flexible, and summer programs are one of my favorite parts of BBYO :)

Since I was lucky enough to get the BBG Members Manual passed down to me at Life, I wanted to incorporate a Blue Book fun fact to help us stay a traditional chapter :)
From page 39, I learned that the last international Nsiah from Chicago was named Vivian Brown, and served from 1948-1949.

If you are interested in becoming a convention coordinator for GMR next year, and you were inspired by YLTC, Kallah, Invite, or Spring, applying to be coordinator is a great decision :) 

Chair positions are important as well! They are great ways to get involved with BBYO Connect, Advisor Appreciation, all that.

Elections are this Wednesday!
**candidates- please come prepared with at least 40 platforms, just to be safe. Also come prepared with your speech.
**Please be there by 5:30! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT SO WE CAN GET STARTED RIGHT AWAY.
** Elections will be held at the Roth's house, 3000 Acacia terr. BG.
**this obviously means don't show up at the JCC please

The Shofar Blog


BBYO recently launched the Shofar Blog, a digital and ongoing BBYO news source to innovate the Shofar Newsletter, which AZA and BBG members have been using to share movement news for almost 90 years!
The latest Shofar articles include highlights of BBYO teens starting their own nonprofits, the TUNED IN in Northern Region East, J-Serve, and a BBYO Passover Seder in Albania!
Now you can also be a published author on bbyo.org! Submit articles on BBYO accomplishments in your region that are between 300 and 500 words to abudman@bbyo.org along with a stellar photo and you might be published on the Shofar Blog! This is a year-round opportunity, so please keep the blog in mind as your region has news to share.

BBYO Connect Dance Party


Want to get your younger sibling, cousin, friend involved in BBYO? 

If they are in 6th-8th grade invite them to the BBYO Connect Dance Party!


Any Alephs and BBGs that bring a 6th-8th grader to this event will receive GMR Swag!


There will be a DJ with dancing, music, and games provided by Mobile Music Interactive Entertainment! 

ALL Jewish 6-8th graders are invited! 

Saturday May 19th from 7:00-9:00 at Michael's in Buffalo Grove. (340 West Half Day Road) 

The cost of the program is $10 and there will be a special menu for food for purchase.

It will be explained in detail at the meeting wednesday, but for now, please try to get the numbers of the girls who you are supposed to call, or  if they are supposed to call you (by looking at the arrows).

Hey Ahavah!!!
it's Becky writing your weekly email!!!
I'm so excited to be the mock mazkirah this week!

This week the meeting is at the JCC at 7:00
We will not be opening for business, however, we have a very fun program planned.
Show your Ahavah spirit by dressing in your chapter spirit wear!
**The Buffalo Grove BBYO phone-a-thon is at 6 this week before the meeting.
Here you will be calling an array of possible donors, explaining your passion for BBYO and asking for donations for scholarships and regional funds. Contact Beth if you are interested.
**You will receive 1 community service hour

Twitter applications are due ASAP!!! If you need a new one, contact Emma.
This is a GREAT way to get involved!!!

Now is the time to get in your yearbook committee forms to Abbie Brenner.
This is also a great way to get involved and it will be a lot of fun!

May 6th is "Look Back, Walk Forward," the official teen walk for Israel. Bbyo is leading the program this year as a part of our J-Serve 2012 project. Register here: http://www.juf.org/idays.
The day begins at the Holocaust Museum in Skokie, with a program with Holocaust survivors, followed by a Walk with Israel from the museum to the Mayer Kaplan JCC. The walk starts at 11:15, but I HIGHLY recommend getting there at 9 for museum access or 10 for the Holocaust program. The day also includes advocacy programming, hands-on service projects, sports, food, and more!! (sorry the letters are all smushed together on the top)
